Hardy Heron is well..not hardy

T60 laptop with intel wireless and ati graphics... I had the wonderful idea recently to convert my windows laptop to a VM and run ubuntu as the primary OS. With 7.10 Gutsy this actually worked pretty well except for some video problems. Some forum posts talked about how ati driver problems would be resolved with hardy so i took the plunge.
and am still waiting to surface.
Firefox 3 beta 5 still has a long way to go and should not be the primary browser. I've been trying to use ff3b3/4/5 on another laptop with some frustration for a while but always had a backup.
Wireless. Hardy decided to use the new open source intel wireless driver...which i can understand ...but it totally broke any EAP authentication (confirmed in intel's bugzilla queue). So I had perfectly running fancy LEAP wireless at my work which is totally busted now.
VMWare workstation needed to be tweaked to configure for this kernel
Did I mention ff3b5 sucks?

And my graphics are still broken...and they moved the gui config options around so i can't even get to the same configuration areas. Please don't make me screw with xorg.conf, that never ends well.

*cry*
Almost everything I ever said nice about ubuntu is about to be resended.
